We’re also excited to offer a new tour of the Great Kitchen and Larder Rooms. Alternatively, you can request a bespoke tour tailored to your group’s specific interests.

State Room Tours
Tour lasts approx. 50 minutes (max. 20 people per tour)
Join a guide for a tour around the State Rooms, home to the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. Hear about the incredible art collection, including works by Canaletto, Titian and Van Dyck, the beautiful interiors, and stories from Alnwick Castle's past.

In 1859, Alnwick Castle’s kitchens opened with a grand dinner for over 600 guests. Combining architecture inspired by cathedrals with cutting-edge steam and hydraulic technology, the kitchens were a marvel of the Victorian age but have never been opened to visitors – until now. Discover the kitchen and larders, and step into the shoes of the people who worked there.
‘Alnwick on Location’ Tour
Tour lasts approx. 45 minutes (max. 50 people per tour)
Join a guide for a journey around the Castle grounds, exploring the areas which have appeared on the big and small screen. Hear behind-the-scenes anecdotes, and visit the locations used in features such as Harry Potter, Downton Abbey, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and more.
